PROTEST !!
AGAINST
THE TALEBAN REGIME
Hindu Human Rights group (HHR) is
deeply concerned about the plight of Hindus in Afghanistan.
Recently, the ruling Taleban Regime
issued an order that all Hindus should wear Yellow Armbands so that
they could be "easily identified" in public. It has been reported that
this has been retracted to a decree that all Hindus should carry Identification
Cards, again for "easy public identification". We say that Armbands,
Special Clothing or ID Cards all amount to one thing - DISCRIMINATION
and the abuse of basic Human Rights.
These developments follow the recent
Taleban destruction of Ancient Buddha Statues and other Hindu and Buddhist
images. The world must see these actions for what they are; the relegation
of Hindus to second-class citizens in their own country!
In this context, it is worth noting
that in the 1930s the world stood by in apathy as Nazi Germany began
restricting the rights of the Jewish people. Jews too were required
to wear Yellow Armbands and carry ID Cards to "identify" themselves
in public. This led to what has been recognised as the worst crime in
History. Are we going to let another Nazi-style persecution happen again?
Let us learn the lessons of History. Let your voice be heard.
